For centuries, matcha has been celebrated in Japan for its numerous health benefits.

Matcha is made by grinding entire green tea leaves into a nutrient-packed powder. For maximum benefits, whisk matcha in moderate temperature to preserve its nutrients.

Frequently asked questions

What is matcha?

Matcha is a finely ground powder made from shade-grown green tea leaves. Unlike regular green tea, matcha involves consuming the entire tea leaf, providing more antioxidants, vitamins, and nutrients in every sip.

What are the health benefits of matcha?

Matcha is packed with health benefits, including:

• Sustained energy without the caffeine crash.

• Rich in antioxidants that promote overall health.

• Supports focus and calm due to its natural L-theanine content.

• Boosts metabolism and aids in weight management.

How do you make matcha at home?

Making matcha at home is simple! Follow these steps:

  1. Sift 1 teaspoon of matcha powder into a bowl.
  2. Add 2 ounces of hot water (not boiling).
  3. Whisk in an “M” motion using a bamboo whisk until frothy.
  4. Optional: Add milk for a creamy matcha latte.

Is matcha better than coffee?

Matcha offers a smoother energy boost compared to coffee. While coffee provides a quick jolt of caffeine, matcha delivers calm, sustained energy due to its combination of caffeine and L-theanine, which promotes focus and reduces jitters.

We love coffee as well as matcha at Good Matcha! Not picking sides

Where does your matcha come from?

Our matcha is sourced directly from the lush tea fields of Japan, known for its centuries-old tradition of cultivating premium green tea. Each batch is carefully selected to ensure the highest quality.

How should I store matcha powder?

To maintain freshness and flavour:

• Store matcha in an airtight container.

• Keep it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

• For optimal freshness, refrigerate after opening.

How long does matcha last?

Matcha stays fresh for about 12-24 months if stored properly. Over time, its flavour and vibrancy may fade, so we recommend consuming it within this period.

Can I drink matcha every day?

Absolutely! Drinking matcha daily is safe for most people and can be a fantastic addition to your wellness routine. However, moderation is key—stick to 1-2 servings a day if you’re sensitive to caffeine.

Does matcha contain caffeine?

Yes, matcha contains caffeine—about 25-35mg per teaspoon, which is less than a cup of coffee. However, its unique blend of caffeine and L-theanine provides a calm, focused energy without the crash.

What’s the best way to prepare matcha without a whisk?

If you don’t have a bamboo whisk, you can:

• Use a small milk frother for a similar frothy texture.

• Shake matcha powder and water in a mason jar or shaker bottle.

Didn't know what good matcha was before good matcha!

Honestly I didn't know what good matcha was before Good Matcha. I don't drink coffee, so I would occasionally order some matcha latte from the cafe, and was always kind of "yeh okay.." about it.

But with Good Matcha, I could really taste the difference. Maybe it's the quality or the way that I grind it with that grinding thing I got from them? Probably both.

Anyways, think I'm sold on it and will be a long-time customer!

Love!!

Ever since I visited Japan last year, I’ve been on the hunt for an authentic matcha brand that ships directly from Australia. I’ve tried a few of the big ones but have really enjoyed this brand. Customer service is excellent and reliable, and the matcha itself gives a wonderful bright green colour I want in a good quality matcha. Highly recommend!

doesn’t taste grassy

I’ve had some pretty average matcha from cafes, either too grassy or tastes like nothing, but this is perfect! Even when whisking I could smell the difference. Would recommend!

Absolutely best matcha I've tried!

Ever since I started drinking matcha, I've tried a few matcha powders, but this one is probably my favourite so far! The taste is smooth and it froths up beautifully, making my iced lattes a pleasure to drink. I've even added it to smoothies for extra flavour. It's my go-to for sure 💚
